Eberhard Scafograf 300 Vintage

En 1959 la manufacture propose la célèbre Scafograph, le modèle est proposé en trois génération, la première sans lunette, étanche 100m, la deuxième avec lunette extérieure étanche a 200m enfin la dernière version celle qui nous intéresse étanche a 300m.

Le boitier est de grande dimension pour l’époque un petit 43mm de diamètre, mais tout prend son sens quand l’on observe les finitions qui sont très soignées.

Le modèle proposé est la scafograph 300 de 1965. C’est un boitier rond en acier à fond vissé. Très belle lunette bleue avec une jolie patine. Cadran noir a index ronds et triangulaires GILT qui a pris avec le temps une splendide patine marron sans équivalent sur le marché actuel. Mouvement mécanique à remontage automatique. A noter que cette montre sort de révision et marche parfaitement dans les normes des montres vintages de cette époque.

Cette montre iconique fait partie des gardes temps de plongées qui ont marquées l’histoire. Une très jolie pièce peu commune a la vente dans cette configuration de cadran.

The Eberhard watchmaking company was founded by Georges Eberhard in 1887 in La Chaux de Fonds.

Eberhard patented a number of technical inventions for the watchmaking industry, and was quick to innovate in the field of technical watches for professionals and seasoned amateurs, creating watches that were both modern and sporty, without precedent.

In 1959, the company launched the famous Scafograph, a model available in three generations: the first without bezel, water-resistant to 100 m; the second with external bezel, water-resistant to 200 m; and the final version, the one we’re interested in, water-resistant to 300m.

The case is large for its time, a mere 43mm in diameter, but all this makes sense when you look at the meticulous finishing.

The model on offer is the 1965 scafograph 300. It’s a round steel case with screw-down back. Beautiful blue bezel with attractive patina. Black dial with round and triangular GILT hour-markers, which over time has taken on a splendid brown patina unmatched on today’s market. Self-winding mechanical movement. Note that this watch has just been overhauled and runs perfectly up to the standards of vintage watches of this era.

This iconic watch is one of the diving timepieces that have left their mark on history. A very attractive timepiece, uncommon for sale in this dial configuration.
